Paul Booker was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 13, 1956 to Paul Monroe Booker, Jr. and Joy DeRolph Booker. Growing up, Paul lived in DeLand, Brandon, and Ft. Lauderdale, graduating from Northeast High School where he started a Chess Club.
Paul was a proud graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He loved to watch and cheer for the Ole Miss athletic teams. His degree in Business Administration took him to successful careers in banking and real estate appraisal.
As a 5th generation Volusia County resident, Paul moved back to DeLand and eventually to Orange City. He enjoyed playing golf, cycling, fishing, the beach, and doing the New York Times crossword puzzle.
Paul was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his siblings: Pattie Kindsvater (Larry), Sarah Altier (Jeff), and John Booker. He was a fond uncle to Heath, Brianne, Garrett, Sydney, McKenzie, Valerie, Gabriella, McClain, and Booker. Paul was always sure to show up to family events with some pickled okra and his nieces and nephews always looked forward to Uncle Paul’s home boiled peanuts.
His circle of friends at his favorite cigar bar speak fondly of Paul as funny, smart, and most of all generous. Anyone in need knew they could count on Paul. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Services will be private.
To honor Paul's spirit of generosity, memorial donations can be made to the The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia
