It is with love in our hearts that we share the news of Richard Gilman Clark Jr. He passed on August 13, 2024 at the Ansley Parke at Orange City Assisted Living in Orange City, FL. He was born on August 27, 1940 in Newton, MA, the son of the late Richard Clark and Janet Collier Clark.
Richard spent the first years of his life bouncing around. Medford, MA, Wakefield, MA, Rutland Town, VT; Brandon, VT; He settled down in Rutland, VT, and lived there till he graduated high school in 1958.
After graduating he attended Northeastern University to study business management. During this time he was a member of the AKS Fraternity. While attending Northeastern he had co-op at various Boston banks. He graduated Northeastern in 1963 with a BS degree.
After graduating from Northeastern he worked in the banking industry and attended Bentley University evening program. He graduated from Bentley University where he studied accounting.
Richard got married to Margaret Maguire in 1972. He went on to have 2 wonderful children; Richard Clark III and Daniel Clark.
In 1975 they moved to Exeter, NH where he worked at the Exeter Banking Company for 13 years. He also worked at the Yankee Greyhound track for the next 40 years.
He would split his time between New Hampshire and Florida where he would eventually become a resident and spend the final years of his life.
He enjoyed helping out various local organizations. He served as a member, treasurer, or board of directors of the Kiwanis International, Moose International, and AKS Fraternity.
He is survived by his two sons Richard Clark III; Daniel Clark and his wife Yared De La Sancha two grandchildren, Maxwell and Maya Clark De La Sancha; his sister Louise Ellis; and several nephews and niece.
He was predeceased by his brother Allan Clark.
A service will be held at the Mount Auburn Cemetery on October 5th, 2024 11 AM - 12:00 PM at 580 Mount Auburn Street Cambridge, MA 02138
A celebratory meal will follow at The Stockyard Restaurant 135 Market St, Brighton, MA 02135
In Lieu of flowers Richard wished that memorial donations be directed to the Central Florida Zoo 3755 W Seminole Blvd, Sanford, FL 32771
