Robert C. Coolidge, a resident of DeLand, Florida, passed away on July 12, 2024, at DeLand Hospital. Born on August 29, 1948, in Greenville, Tennessee, Robert was the third child of Everett and Carolyn Coolidge. In 1980, Robert moved to Florida to manage the Jewett Orthopedic Clinic in Winter Park, where he met his future wife, Lorraine. They married on October 15, 1982. His career included positions at the Matthews Orthopedic Clinic in Orlando and with Dr. Richard Haynes, MD, in Melbourne, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Richard Patrick Murphy. Robert is survived by Lorraine, his wife of 41 years; his stepdaughter, Stacia M. Hollmann (Mark); seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brothers, William (Rose) Coolidge and Herbert Coolidge; his niece, Cynthia (John) Jones; and his nephew, William E. Coolidge. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, Robert earned a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from the College of St. Francis. His passions included NASCAR racing, Studebaker vehicles, Republican politics, and the Rotary Club. He also served on the board of the Living Legends of Auto Racing, Incorporated in Daytona Beach, Florida. A visitation will be held at 3:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM on July 18 at the Allen Summerhill Funeral Home, 126 E New York Avenue, DeLand, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Robert’s name to the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation or a charity of your choice.
