Roscoe Leroy “Roy” Smith, 82, passed away on June 22, 2024 surrounded by family at his home in Seville. An avid outdoorsman, Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and tending to his many ferneries and gardens. He was an extremely hard worker, dedicated and determined to provide for his family. Roy was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be remembered for all the laughs he shared with friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. Roy is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Betty Smith; 4 children: Shelby (Jimmy), Steven (Sheryl), Stewart (Lora) and Stanley (Penny); 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world and he was unendingly proud of them. In honor of his final wishes, Roy’s remains will be spread on the family property. Friends and family are welcome to attend a celebration of life fish fry, which will be held at Roy and Betty's house on July 27 from 2:00-6:00 pm. The family asks for those attending to bring a covered dish or beverage and personal folding chairs, if able.
