Russell J. Lambertson, 78 of DeLand, Florida died at Halifax Hospice on October 8th, 2024 after a long battle with asbestosis. Russ is preceded in death by his brother John G. Lambertson, Jr., mother Catherine C. McDermott, father John G. Lambertson, Sr. and son Russell J. Lambertson, Jr. He is survived by his wife Ann, a daughter Jean Marie Lambertson and her partner Keith Smith, a sister Catherine Clark, step-son Frank Severance, 3 grandchildren Zachary Cueto and his wife Amanda, Bryce Cueto and Marcella Cueto, 2 great-grandchildren Forrest and Molly Cueto, 4 step-great-grandchildren Madelyn, Myles, Maverick and Marilyn, brother in law Mike Boucher, sister in law Jayne Boucher, brother in law Paul Boucher and his partner Edith, his ex-wife and friend Ida. Russ was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Afterward, he found work at E B Boatyard and later he worked in all areas of carpentry, mastering them all. His final job was at a self made business fixing small motors and any lawn equipment. Russ could do it all, a true Jack of all trades. Russ enjoyed spending time with friends and family, he was often cracking jokes and making us smile. He was a top notch chef and he truly enjoyed gardening, and he had a green thumb. He also enjoyed looking after his pet chicken Blondie and his sweet cat Missy, but his passion was riding his Harley Davidson MC with his friends. Our hearts are broken. We will miss him very much. Allen-Summerhill Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
We invite you to join us in honoring the life of Russell on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. After the service, there will be a procession to DeLand Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where Military Honors will be rendered. A reception will be held immediately afterward at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3959 in DeLand. Your presence and support are deeply appreciated as we celebrate Russell’s life and legacy.
