Sandra Margaret (Conklin) Sherman

Sandra Margaret Sherman, 77, of Orange City, Florida, passed away on March 30, 2025. She was born on October 20, 1947, in Sussex Borough, New Jersey, and raised in Middletown, New York.

Sandra lived most of her life in the Orange County, New York area. She grew up surrounded by her loving parents, Victor and Mary Benedetto, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She moved to St. Augustine, Florida, in 2007, where she loved the downtown charm and proximity to the beach. In 2019, she moved to Orange City to be closer to her daughter, Chelsea Noe, and later her beloved grandchildren Jack and Emily.

Sandra was a graduate of Middletown High School (1965) and earned a Professional Certificate in Gerontology from Mount Saint Mary College in 2000. She also completed a Medical Coding course at Ulster BOCES in 2001. Most of her professional career was spent working in hospitals as a financial counselor, helping those who struggled during their most vulnerable times. 

Sandra was a caretaker by nature, with a hippie soul. She was passionate in her convictions; that people should be kind and fair to each other, and good to animals and the natural world. She loved music and being outdoors, and being with the people she loved.

She is survived by her daughter, Chelsea Noe (Tim), and her grandchildren Jack and Emily.

A viewing will be held at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 7th, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 8th, at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary.

As we gather to honor Sandra's memory, please wear bright colors. She always felt that black was too somber and loved celebrating life in vibrant hues. Let’s carry her spirit with us through color.
