Sara Wood Spencer

Sara Wood Spencer, 79 passed away August 12, 2025 at AdventHealth HospiceCare in Orange City. She was born March 8, 1946 in Tampa and moved to DeLand from Sanford in 2022; however, she resided in the DeLand/Orange City area since 1978. Sara was a bank manager and a member of New Covenant Baptist Church in DeLand. She loved her church, her family, traveling, cooking and reading with her book club. She was predeceased by her husband, William Spencer. Survivors include her son Scott Spencer of Bethesda, MD; daughter Dawn Jarrell of Orange City and grandson Richard L. Jarrell, III of Orlando. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 21st at 10am at New Covenant Baptist Church, 1350 S. Blue Lake Ave, DeLand, FL, with a welcome reception at 10am. She will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
