Scott F Bowers

Scott F. Bowers was born in Lincoln, Maine on April 4, 1958. He went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. Scott served his country with honor in the United States Air Force for 4 years where he received the US Airforce Commendation Award. Scott graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a bachelor's in aircraft mechanics and from Daytona State with an AA in HVAC. He was a dedicated employee of Advent Health DeLand Hospital in his professional life. Scott enjoyed spending time outdoors, boating, fishing, camping, and being with family. He was also an avid skier and enjoyed fixing things. Along with his many hobbies, Scott devoted his time to studying the Bible as well as attending First Baptist Church Deland where he also taught a Bible study for many years. He was the beloved son of Vernon and Deborah Bowers and a brother to Gary Bowers. Scott was a loving husband to Sharon Bowers for 38 wonderful years. Scott and Sharon were blessed with a beautiful daughter named Annie Bowers. He was the nephew of Linda Ludden, Doug Ludden, and Cretie Leen. He was an admirable son-in-law to Mary Anne Hartung, brother-in-law to Debbie Bowers, Jeff Hartung, Joanne Hartung, and Janice McElroy, as well as an uncle to his nieces and nephews Lindsay Bowers, Mallory Kelly, and Jessica Klingensmith, Ben McElroy, and Daniel McElroy. A service will be held at First Baptist Church, 725 N Woodland Blvd, Deland, on September 16th at 2 p.m. A private burial will be held on a later date at Bushnell National Cemetary with full military honors. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Advent Health staff for the love and care they showed Scott during his time in the hospital and the Halifax Hospice angels who cared for him during his time at home. They would also like to thank his crew in the engineering department for their thoughtful encouragement, help, and visits.
