Stephen “Steve” John Connor passed away on May 3, 2025, in DeLand, Florida. Born on October 4, 1960, in Waltham, Massachusetts. Steve grew up in Wellesley, Ma but spent most of his adult life in DeLand, where he built a reputation as a skilled mechanic, body shop owner, and all-around handyman. Known for his ability to fix just about anything, Steve was always ready to lend a hand to friends, neighbors, and family.
Steve was the son of Philip Connor and Nancye VanDeusen Connor. He is survived by his mother, Nancye Connor, and his four daughters: Renee Richards (and her husband Bobby), Emily Connor (and her husband Derick Taylor), Amanda Connor, and Sarah Connor, all of DeLand, Florida. He is also survived by his sisters, Tracey, Julie, and Debbie, of Wellesley, Massachusetts, as well as his beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Steve’s legacy is one of hard work, generosity, and devotion. He was not a perfect man, but he was present—steadfast in his love for his daughters and loyal to those around him. He had an easy way with people, a ready conversation, and a heart always inclined toward helping others. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel, 126 E New York Ave, DeLand, Florida.
