Thelma Louise Crippen, 97, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Joe and Callie Coe. She was predeceased by her husband SSGT George Osmer Crippen (Retired) and daughter Dianne Selman.
She was a seamstress and went from picking cotton to a warrior in Christ. Thelma was a member of First Baptist Church in Orange City for over 60 years, having served in Sunday School, P.L.C. Children Learning Center, singing in the choir and cooking. She was a faithful servant of the Lord who, with her husband, lead mission trips throughout the United States.
She is survived by her sister Christine Moore of Georgia, four daughters Carolyn (Larry) Stephens of Georgia, Marilyn (Barry) Meyers of Orange City, Juanita (James) Evans of Lake Helen and Carol Crippen of DeLand; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel, 126 East New York Ave. DeLand, with Pastor John Mitcham officiating. Interment will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
