Viola Mae Scott, age 93, of Orange City, Florida, passed away on March 4, 2026, at Gold Choice Assisted Living in Ormond Beach, Florida. She was born on July 31, 1932, in Decatur, Illinois, to Lloyd Babb and Doris Joplin.
Viola moved to Florida in 1973. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly spirit. She worked at Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Decatur before relocating to Florida, where she was employed at Ross Department Store and the Hi Ho Silver Restaurant in DeLand. She retired in 1996.
She is survived by her brother, James Babb; her daughter, Deborah Moccio (Steve) of Georgia; her son, Steve Scott (Marie) of Lake Mack, Florida; her grandchildren, Heather Delong, Brian Dawson, Pete Scott, and Tanya Ervin; as well as seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer “Scotty” Scott; her sister, Rose Louise Harrison; and her brother, Lloyd Babb.
No services will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen-Summerhill Funeral Homes & Crematory.
