Wilfred Donald LeVeille, Jr., 95, of DeLand, passed away October 19, 2025, at Blue Palms Health and Rehabilitation Center in DeLand. He was born on July 8, 1930, in Orlando and was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Wilfred, affectionately known as Bill, spent several years in the insurance business and eventually sold his insurance company to Brown and Brown Inc., where he retired as Vice President.
He was a devoted member of First Church DeLand and active in many community organizations, including the DeLand Rotary Club, the DeLand Planning Board, Kiwanis Club, Lake Beresford Yacht Club, and the DeLand Golf Club. He also served as director of 1st Federal of Mid Florida. He was a founding director of St. Barnabas School, one of the original directors of the DeLand YMCA, and the builder of the “Big Rig.”
Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing, snow skiing, exercising, and was an avid Florida Gator fan, only missing three home Florida football games in 43 years!
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Bettie Meggs LeVeille; son Don LeVeille, III (Lori); daughters Cheryl Youngman, Lynne Adams (Ralph), and Kay Nichols (Ben); six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home, 126 E. New York Ave., DeLand, FL 32724. A private family viewing will take place from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a public viewing from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to First Church DeLand in Bill’s memory.
