Willard Edward Evans
May 20, 1930 ~ December 5, 2025
Born in Saybrook Township, Ohio in the early days of the great depression Willie grew up on his father’s dairy farm in Ashtabula on the southern banks of Lake Erie.
Willard lived a full life of service to others through his family and multiple careers. Starting as a volunteer fire-fighter he became the Fire Chief of Ashtabula where he also ran a construction business, building, and designing, many houses that still stand today. In Ashtabula he and his wife Darlene (nee Taggart) raised three big, strapping boys. Moving to Florida after his early retirement he and his wife became owners and operators of a cottage motel in Orange City. He then served as the Director of Facilities Maintenance at the Duvall Home for many years before once again retiring to start a new chapter of his life. Willard and his new wife Joanne (nee Horton) started an antique business specializing in Ohio made, Heisey Glassware.
Willard will be remembered and continues to be loved by his surviving children; Robert Evans, Kathryn Bauer, Terri Bassett (Paul), Hugh Bauer, Tim Evans (Tina), as well as numerous grand- children, great-grand-children and great-great-grand-children.
