Willy Carolus Waltens, aged 89, of Edgewater, Florida, passed away on June 26, 2024. He was born on January 12, 1935, in St. Niklaas, Belgium. Willy dedicated his life as an acrobat and a man of many entertaining talents, performing all across Europe in many circuses, nightclubs and stage shows. Often referred to as "One of the best hand balancers in the world.” Willy later moved to the United States where he eventually met and married Carol "Tink" Waltens on September 8, 1976. Together, they created and performed in "The Waltens International Acrobatic Variety Show," an Acrobatic Show that delighted audiences across the U.S. for 40 years.
Willy's passion for entertainment was matched by his love for hobbies which included photography, gardening, and traveling. A proud member of the World Clown Association, he brought joy not only on stage but wherever he went. His love for sight-seeing allowed him to explore and experience the world’s diverse cultures and landscapes, often accompanied by his wife.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol "Tink" Waltens; his daughters, Carmen Waltens (Robert) and Noella Torres (Jose); and his brother, Gilbert Waltens. Willy's legacy of laughter, love, and dedication to his family and craft will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In Lieu of flowers, Willy requested before his passing that donations be made to New Hope Animal Shelter.
