She is survived by her son Billie Rex Beach, Jr. (Lisa), daughter Liela Marie McGee (Monty), adopted daughter Sue Lancto; four grandchildren -- Heather Eileen McKiernan (Joey), Ashley Janine Best (Mike), Constance Lee Elam (Tony), and Chelsea Rena Beach (Pete); seven great-grandchildren -- Dane Rex McKiernan, Rylan Maddox Best, Everly Quinn Best, Indie Rose Best, Brooke McKenzie Elam, Taylor Lee Elam and Macie Lee Elam; and nephew Allen Lee Improta (Jackie).
Gram (or grandma), as we called her, always knew how to make things better on rough days – and happier on good days. She genuinely cared so much about people – and it was undeniable. No one would ever be without or cold if grandma had a part in it. She was such a good listener and role model -- and oh my goodness was she funny and fun to be around! She just made you feel good. We always looked up to grandma – and will continue to do so in her memory and wish that we could be half as amazing as she truly was. May we all take a page out of Gram’s book in this life. We love you, Gram, more than we could ever possibly try to describe – and we’ll all play and laugh again one day in Heaven.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25th from 6-8pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 10am at First Baptist Church of DeLeon Springs, with interment to follow at Pinehurst Cemetery in DeLeon Springs.
